|  |  |  | 28 Dec 2008 Delaney Bramlett Passes Away At 69 Delaney Bramlett, 69, died in Los Angeles on Saturday 27 December from complications from gall bladder surgery. He was born on 1 July 1939 in Pontotoc, Mississippi. With his first wife, Bonnie, he formed Delaney & Bonnie & Friends in the late 1960s. They opened for Blind Faith on their U.S. Tour in 1969 and later, Eric Clapton joined their band for a brief time. Delaney also worked with Clapton on his self-titled 1st solo album in 1970. A singer / songwriter / producer, Bramlett penned many classic rock hits including "Never Ending Song Of Love," "Superstar" (with Leon Russell) and "Let It Rain" (with Clapton). Bramlett was also the guitarist in the house band for the popular U.S. Television Show, "Shindig". During his career, he also worked with such luminaries as George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix, J.J. Cale, Etta James, Elvin Bishop and Dave Mason. His most recent solo recording was "A New Kind of Blues" (Magnolia Gold Records)....
